Carnoustie Country has commissioned Platinum Events Management to organise the Carnoustie Country Classic Golf Tournament, which takes place in May of each year. This year, with Platinum's assistance, the event is attracting a capacity entry of 160 golfers, and it is estimated that the event will generate an additional £500,000 to the local economy. Platinum were commissioned on the basis of a highly professional tender, which outlined innovative proposals for enhancing the event by developing an inclusive package for golfers, to include accommodation, golf, and a full social programme.

Stuart French of Platinum has undertaken all aspects of the event organisation, including securing sponsorship, co-ordination of bookings and pre-event communication with competitors, liaison with golf courses, contracting of accommodation and transport suppliers, organisation of a full social programme for competitors and partners, liaison with caterers and entertainment providers, procurement of prizes for the golf competition, and organisation of the opening and closing receptions. The event management has been undertaken in a thoroughly professional manner, and no stone has been left unturned in the desire to create an event which has now become established as one of the premier amateur golfing tournaments in Scotland.

On the basis of their involvement in the Carnoustie Country Classic, I would have no hesitation in recommending Platinum Events Management to organisations seeking event management services.

Stuart has assisted the Dundee & Tayside Chamber of Commerce greatly by using his event organisation skills in the following areas.

As part of the Chamber's Angus Business Week he has arranged venues, catering and speakers. He has liaised between the Chamber and the venue regarding audio/visual requirements. Stuart has also organised seating arrangements and taken on board the contacting of potential delegates.

I was referred to Stuart in September 2004 and decided to engage in Stuart's services to organise a recent seminar.

Stuart conducted a thorough needs analysis which was important to us as we needed Stuart to organise a suitable venue which included catering for up to 40 people, co-ordinate invites to at least 150 individuals and businesses, liaise with The Dundee and Tayside Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Skandia.
